YOUR ACCESS TO NATURAL HORMONES
IS BEING THREATENED!
APRIL 4 = DEADLY DEADLINE!

the FDA Today
Below we have included information about
how one pharmaceutical company
- Wyeth - is using their FDA connections
to try to stop your right to have access
to bio-identical hormones.
It is our long-held belief that health care should be highly
individualized, allowing consumers to make choices from a
wide range of options for diagnosis & treatment.
Currently, due to unhealthy collusion between government
regulatory agencies and "big business" (specifically
the pharmaceutical industry), this freedom to choose is being
seriously threatened. It is up to us all - as providers and
consumers of health care - to maintain our right to make
these choices before it quietly disappears.
There are many arenas in which this medical freedom of choice
is at risk, including the consolidated multinational effort
by the pharmaceutical industry (CODEX) to eliminate competition
through preventing health consumers from having access to
commonly-used vitamins and herbal products. This natural
supplement industry has grown in recent years by leaps and
bounds as consumers have become more aware of the benefits
of natural products and the detriments of drugs.
Yet our own government - while telling our youth to "just
say NO to drugs" - is pushing them on its citizens,
often with seemingly little regard for the serious and even
life-threatening consequences.
- Our children are being forced to take chemicals to alter
their behavior in the school environment (making them more
docile and easily controlled), yet are chastised when they
experiment with drugs, sending a very mixed message
- Our senior
citizens are often prescribed so many pharmaceuticals (which
now Medicare is attempting to pay for at the public's expense)
that they require extensive monitoring (which many sadly
are not getting) to avoid potentially fatal consequences,
putting this population at great risk.
- Our medical system
admits to at least 100,000 deaths per year caused by doctors
and fatal drug reactions
- And now - again - women's lives are
being undermined due to the desire of drug companies to
improve their profits.
What Can Stop This Madness?
Only you - the health consumers of America.
You can become aware of these challenges to your health,
and speak out on behalf of yourself, your loved ones, and
those who cannot speak for themselves, the youth, the aged,
the infirm.
Wyeth, the makers of Premarin and Prempro, have seen a 72%
decline in sales recently, after the famous 2002 Womens Health
Initiative Study had to be halted because the results showed
that women taking these popular drugs were at heightened
risk for blood clots, breast cancer, heart attack and stroke!
These very drugs had --for years --been sold to the public
as good protection for bones and heart!
Now Wyeth is using lobbyists to influence the FDA to prevent
women from using natural safe options for hormone balance.
Bio-identical hormones are safe and effective, often relieving
the uncomfortable symptoms of hormonal imbalances without
the potentially life-threatening side effects of chemical
drugs like Premarin. They want to make it illegal for us
to use compounded (individually prepared) pills and creams
from natural "bio-identical"sources.
At least 20,000 signatures and notes are needed by April
4 to stop this travesty.
Take a minute, read the letter below, and click on the link
to FDA comment line. You may also want to send this to your
local representatives, to be sure the FDA is accurately reporting
its feedback. The FDA—and your representatives—are
there to protect you from harm and to support your best interests—not
those of the pharmaceutical giants!
Let your voice be heard in this important issue.

Dear Partners in the Wellness Revolution:
Wyeth Pharmaceutical wants the FDA to take away your right
to choose safe, effective and natural, bio-identical hormones
and regulate your choice of health treatments. We
have until April 4, 2006 to stop them.
Wyeth, the maker of Premarin and Prempro, filed a "Citizens
Complaint" with the FDA on October 16, 2005, requesting
that the FDA effectively prohibit compounding pharmacies
from providing bio-identical hormones to their patients.
This would mean that you would no longer be able to get your
bio-identical hormones from us or from any one else.
Since the 2002 Women's Health Initiative (WHI) which demonstrated
that Wyeth's products, Premarin and Prempro, caused a significant
increase in breast cancer, blood clots to the lungs, heart
attacks and strokes, Wyeth has seen a dramatic decline in
the sales of these counterfeit hormones. Wyeth's financial
reports, which are available online at www.wyeth.com, indicate
the following significant decline in sales of Premarin Family
products;
2002 - $2,072,000,000;
2003 - $1,275,000,000;
2004 - $880,000,000.
This represents a 68% decline in sales of Premarin
Family products between 2002 - 2004. Wyeth's profits
have likewise declined precipitously; 2002 - $4,447,000,000; 2003
- $2,051,192,000; 2004 - $1,234,000,000, a 72% decline in
profits.
Tens of thousands of women have forsaken Premarin family
drugs for bio-identical hormones. Wyeth is simply
trying to stop its losses and regain its market share. Wyeth
wants to force women to take their counterfeit hormones by eliminating
the competition from bio-identical hormones prepared by compounding pharmacies.
The FDA receives drug user fees, totaling at least
$300,000,000 in 2004, from the pharmaceutical companies
for the drugs they sell. The less drugs that Wyeth
sells, the less money the FDA makes. The FDA collects no drug
user fees from compounding pharmacies because they
are regulated by the states, not the federal government.
So the FDA wants to eliminate compounding pharmacies as well.
Pharmaceutical companies recruit key FDA employees to work
for them at huge salaries. This is the dream of many
bureaucrats, to get a high paying job with a big drug company.
So you can understand why FDA regulators have an incentive
to please Wyeth.
Wyeth, like all the major pharmaceutical companies, contributes
billions of dollars to various medical societies and patient
advocacy organizations. So it is not surprising that
many of these organizations have written responses to the
FDA in support of Wyeth's complaint. Because of their
money ties to Wyeth, these organizations endorse Wyeth's
products and do Wyeth's bidding. When an organization
supports something which is obviously detrimental to women
and men, it is important to follow the money trail.
Wyeth can and must be defeated in its attempt
to restrict patients' rights to choose to safe,
effective and natural treatments using bio-identical hormones.
You can voice your opposition to the Wyeth Complaint by
going directly to the FDA comment link below and telling
the FDA your story about the benefits that bio-identical
hormones have made in your life. The comment filing period
ends on April 4, 2006 at which time the FDA will make its
decision.
To stop Wyeth and the FDA we need at least 20,000 comments
opposing the Wyeth complaint. So write your comment on line
today!
Please forward this information to any one who
will support this effort. Print & copy as needed.
